Star Magic Ball 2012 -- Angelica Panganiban

Angelica Panganiban wears Ellie Saab to the Star Magic Ball 2012. Angelica is truly one versatile actress who's not only good in drama but also does so well in comedy. But I really like her better in bitchy roles like her role in "Ruby."

Last seen in "Every Breath You Take" opposite Piolo Pascual, she will be in "24/7 in Love" with real-life sweetheart John Lloyd Cruz. I just learned that from the news. Angelica is also working on an upcoming soap opera with Melai Cantiveros. Perhaps it will be shown next year.

Star Magic Ball 2012 -- Megan Young

Megan Young wears Randy Ortiz to the Star Magic Ball 2012. The gown looks great and Megan simply looks fabulous.

I have last watched Megan in the afternoon series "Hiyas." The role fits her to a T. I hope she'll be in more leading roles soon. I think I've seen her name in the opening credits of "A Beautiful Affair." I hope her role will be a good one. Megan was also part of the cast of "The Reunion." Aside from being a good actress, I think she's also a good TV show host. ^_^

Star Magic Ball 2012 - Bea Alonzo

Bea Alonzo wears Rajo Laurel to the Star Magic Ball 2012. It's quite a unique concept but no offense to Bea or to Rajo Laurel, I don't find the gown flattering. Bea Alonzo was rather stunning last year when she wore a gown that showed her cleavage. 

It's been some time since Bea Alonzo has been visible on primetime TV, but she did recently star in a movie with John Lloyd Cruz, "The Mistress." Bea has emerged to be one of the prettiest faces in local showbiz. Come Monday, 29th October, her newest soap opera show "A Beautiful Affair" will start airing. This is a reunion project with John Lloyd. I believe the tandem remains to be a crowd drawer despite the lack of romantic involvement between the two. 

I've seen the movie trailer of "24/7 in Love" and I'm quite curious about her tandem with real-life sweetheart Zanjoe Marudo. It seems like a comedy sequence with Zanjoe playing gay and having an accidental involvement with Bea -- not sure I got that right. LOL ^_^ Anyway, the movie will come out in November. Star Magic Ball 2012 -- Erich Gonzales

Erich Gonzales wears Francis Libiran to the 2012 Star Magic Ball. Erich was the grand winner of the second Star Circle Quest. Even then, she had to wait a long while before she even got her own starring role in the TV remake of "Katorse."

After starring in horror flick "Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang" opposite Derek Ramsay, Erich stars in another movie due to be shown in theaters next week. This time around it's a romantic comedy -- ironic to be releasing such a film on Halloween! LOL ^_^ -- "Suddenly It's Magic" opposite Thailand star Mario Maurer. 

If you've seen the movie trailer, I'd say Erich and Mario look really good onscreen. I'm not surprised they were paired for this upcoming movie. Comedy films have been quite successful at the box-office so I hope that this film, being a romantic comedy, will do just as well. The movie trailer did receive quite a response from the audience when it was shown before a movie we've watched at the cinema last week. If you're looking for a date movie for Halloween, "Suddenly It's Magic" seems a good choice.

Star Magic Ball 2012 -- Melissa Ricks

Melissa Ricks wears Cherry Veric to the Star Magic Ball 2012. I remember when Melissa was part of the Big 5 of the first ever Star Circle Quest. Wow! That seemed like a long time ago. I think she was just around 14 then. 

Her role in Philippine TV remake "Nasaan Ka Elisa" was a good one in my opinion. It showed Melissa in a more mature, rebellious and daring role. It's no wonder her Joanna character in "Walang Hanggan" is just as marked. I think it's time to cast Melissa Ricks in strong and mean roles, though not necessarily playing villain.

Star Magic Ball 2012 -- Empress Schuck

Empress Schuck wears Mara Chua to the Star Magic Ball 2012. Empress has come a long way from being a child star into a full-grown young woman.

Empress is one of the finest young actresses today. She starred in hit afternoon series "Mundo Man Ay Magunaw" and horror flick "Amorosa." 

I wonder what next project would Empress be working on? I hope she graduates from teeny bopper roles and gets to play more mature ones just like Julia Montes in "Walang Hanggan."

Last year, the movie "No Other Woman" surprised everyone when it became a phenomenal box-office success. That included me naturally. Although I must admit that I never got to watch the said film, my mom did with a friend. She later on commented that it was way better than "The Mistress" which starred Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. 

"No Other Woman" made Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes box-office queens. It even won a Famas best actress award for Anne Curtis. Amazing! I still don't quite understand the fascination of the general public for movies with themes about love and betrayal.

Today, "A Secret Affair" opens in cinemas. This time around it stars Anne Curtis once again, but with Andi Eigenmann as her main rival. I think Anne has proven herself to be quite an actress, so I'm guessing it's Andi's turn to prove her own in this film. It's good to see her making such a comeback since her controversial and unexpected pregnancy last year. Not many actresses are given such a chance. 

Andi Eigenmann is also doing well in primetime TV show "Kahit Puso'y Masugatan" where she plays the bratty Veronica. I think the role really suits her. The movie "A Secret Affair" may just be her big comeback project.

"A Secret Affair" has all the ingredients of a talked-about movie -- quotable quotes, direct confrontation scenes -- some elements that seem to hold the public's interests. Top it in with gorgeous looking actors and sizzling hot scenes.. voila! I admit it's a pretty intriguing movie that I'd like to watch.
