Kris Aquino and Anne Curtis in a New Teleserye

Anne Curtis -- sexy, daring, and the popular "Dyosa" (goddess) of local showbiz stars once again in an upcoming teleserye with Kris Aquino and Robin Padilla. She's truly one of the most visible leading lady these days and has now been dubbed as the Box-Office Queen after the huge success of her movies in the box-office. 

On the other hand, queen of all media Kris Aquino who has not made any teleserye shows in the recent years is now making a major comeback in "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw." The show has a powerhouse cast that also includes Robin Padilla as the coveted leading man of both Kris and Anne. 

The trailer looks promising. I just hope it's not another hand-to-mouth teleserye, which is a trouble with most shows these days. Kris mentioned in her morning show "Kris TV" that they've been working on this show for the past 7 months. If that's the case then the show is truly something to look forward to. It's not that I regularly watch teleserye shows, but I get irked when most shows get extended and then they lose much of the original plot. I hope "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw" won't be one of those shows.

The show starts next week on primetime. 

Angeline Quinto Stars in Her Own Teleserye

From being the teleserye theme song queen, Angeline Quinto is for the first time given a chance to star in her own teleserye, "Kahit Konting Pagtingin." Not only does she get to be a lead star, she also gets paired with two of the popular leading men in local showbiz, Paulo Avelino and Sam Milby. The show gets an afternoon time slot. From the trailer, "Kahit Konting Pagtingin" looks promising as I think it's not going to be all drama but will feature the funny side of Angeline too. 

I hope the show takes off. I've been a fan of Angeline since the Star Power Quest. She even replied to one of my tweets when she was just starting out. Good luck, Angeline and the rest of the cast of "Kahit Konting Pagtingin."

Empress (Schuck) of Drama : In Full Bloom

I remember seeing Empress as a child star in some of the older Star Cinema movies. Now she has blossomed into a fine young actress. I'm glad that younger actresses like Empress are now given good breaks by ABS-CBN.

Empress starred in the recently concluded afternoon soap opera "Mundo Man Ay Magunaw." The show had a stellar cast and I'm glad she's part of it. I wonder what her next project would be.

Iza Calzado Is Now A Kapamilya Artist!

Iza Calzado is truly one of the loveliest faces in local Philippine showbiz. Not only that she is also one of the finest actresses. I personally love watching her. I hope that her move to ABS-CBN Kapamilya network will really prove to be good for her career. After all there are lots of artists that aren't given enough roles or exposure there. If what I've read is to be believed, it seems Iza will host the second season of "The Biggest Loser." Plus, she is supposed to be part of a teleserye with Angel Locsin and Derek Ramsay and the Sarah Geronimo-John Lloyd Cruz movie. Oh well, it's all wait and see at this time... ^_^

Kim Chiu -- Wedding Gowns

Last Friday's finale of "My Binondo Girl" featured Kim Chiu wearing a wedding gown very similar to the one worn by Princess Kate. It was very lovely indeed. But then again, I would consider Kim Chiu as one of the luckiest young actresses as we have previously seen her wearing the loveliest wedding gowns in her past TV series.

Kim Chiu Specials

Time was when primetime drama princess Kim Chiu was just starting out. I wonder if you remember her from these pictures... ^_^

The star-studded sequel to the popular "Maging Sino Ka Man" telenovela that left some memorable lines from Sam Milby and Anne Curtis. Their romance also supposedly also started during the first series. But if there's one tandem I would want to watch on TV again, it would be Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz. 

"Tayong Dalawa" was another star-studded telenovela. Agot Isidro's performance was outstanding. The ending (with Rosanna Roces and Enchong Dee) was rather strange though. They probably thought of a sequel but never pushed through. And Coco Martin, from being second lead, has now become one of the most sought after leading men.

Do you remember this telenovela that starred Bea Alonzo, Gretchen Barretto, Angel Aquino, and Erich Gonzales? I actually liked Angel Aquino's portrayal of Vera. But I believe it was Gretchen who bagged a best actress award for this teleserye.

Alas, Claudine Barretto's last telenovela for ABS-CBN Kapamilya network before making the move to GMA-7 Kapuso network. Memorable lines from both Catherine and Scarlet played by Claudine and Angelica Panganiban, respectively. I believe Angelica has successfully reinvented herself in this teleserye.
